Pocztówka z Maryland, Stanów Zjednoczonych. Zdjęcie przedstawia plażę Isla Mujeres w Meksyku. Nazywa gminy z hiszpańskiego znaczy Wyspa kobiet. Przed najazdem Hiszpanów wyznawano tam boginię Ixchel - patronkę brzemienności, płodności, pododu, medycyny i tkactwa. Hiszpanie nazwali to miejsce Wyspą kobiet z powodu wielu posągów bogini, jakie tam znaleźni.
Nadawca mej kartki spędził na tej wyspie wakacje.

Postard from Maryland, USA. The card shows a beach in Isla Mujeres, Mexico. The name of a city comes from Spanish and it means Island of Women.  The island was sacred to the Ixchel, Maya goddess of childbirth and medicine. When the Spanish arrived named it "Isla Mujeres" because of the many images of goddesses.
